Having had an designamat.net interest in Africa since a young age, with his best friend’s family hailing from Ethiopia and hearing stories of their safari encounters at a young age, Matt deferred university to live out his dream of moving to Uganda for a year. Here he worked with East African Playgrounds, first as a volunteer and then a Gorilla Trek Coordinator Intern and had the privilege of leading groups of students on the trip of a lifetime up to see gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. He has also volunteered with Modisa Wildlife Project in Botswana and returned to Uganda several times as well as travelling to every other East African country.
